Some installs are straightforward. Others are the kind you only get to call “Install of the Week” for a reason.
This one was an epic re-build. Last year, our crew dismantled a glass-panel bus shelter ready for relocation. This week, we put the whole masterpiece back together on site. Big panels, big precision, and a finish that had to look right from every angle.
What made it a standout
Relocation work is different to a standard install. You’re dealing with existing components, real-world tolerances, and a lot of careful handling to make sure everything goes back together the way it’s meant to.
For a glass-heavy structure, the priorities are simple:
Safe handling and careful staging
Accurate alignment and consistent spacing
A clean final finish that looks sharp up close and from a distance
“Midnight Sun”
The shelter features Sara Hughes’ “Midnight Sun”, a public artwork made up of 96 individual glass panels that form a colourful canopy effect. It’s designed to be lit and enjoyed day and night, and it’s a seriously cool piece to be part of.
Honestly? Isn’t she smashing.
