Commercial Glass FAQs
Internal Glass Partitions FAQs
What are internal glass partitions?
Internal glass partitions are glass walls used to divide a space into separate zones or rooms while keeping light and an open feel.
What are glass partitions commonly used for?
Most commonly for meeting rooms, private offices, reception areas, quiet rooms, studios, and dividing open-plan areas into practical zones.
Do glass partitions provide privacy?
Yes. Clear glass keeps spaces open. Frosted/obscure glass or privacy film provides privacy while still allowing light through.
What is manifestation and do we need it?
Manifestation is a visible marking applied to glass to make it easier to see and reduce the risk of people walking into it. It’s commonly recommended in commercial spaces, especially in walkways and high-traffic areas.
Can you add frosting to glass partitions?
Yes. We can use frosted/obscure glass on new installs, or apply privacy film depending on the situation and the finish you want.
Do glass partitions reduce noise?
They can, but results depend on the design. Floor-to-ceiling partitions, sealing, and door detailing make the biggest difference. If sound control matters, tell us early and we’ll recommend an approach that supports it.
What’s the difference between floor-to-ceiling and partial-height partitions?
Floor-to-ceiling gives stronger separation and typically better privacy and sound control. Partial-height works well for zoning and layout definition while keeping the space lighter and more open.
Can you include doors in glass partitions?
Yes. We can include doors and recommend placement for flow and usability.
What door options are available?
Common options include hinged glass doors and minimal or frameless door styles where suitable, with hardware selected to suit the overall fit-out. There are also a range of other door styles and partition systems available, which can be discussed and tailored to suit the specific space, functionality, and design requirements.
Are glass partitions safe?
Yes. We use suitable safety glass for internal applications and install with appropriate fixings and compliance considerations.
Will glass partitions show fingerprints?
Clear glass can show marks in high-touch areas, especially near doors. Frosted sections, film, and good hardware placement can help reduce this.
Can you install glass partitions on any surface?
Often, yes. The fixing method depends on what the floor, walls, and ceiling are made of. We confirm suitability during a site measure.
How long does installation take?
It depends on size and complexity. Once everything is measured and supplied, installation is typically efficient. We’ll confirm timeframes once the design is finalised.
What information do you need to provide a quote?
Photos of the space, a rough sketch or plan, approximate dimensions (height and total length), your privacy preference (clear vs frosted), and whether you need doors (and where).
What affects the cost of internal glass partitions?
Main factors include overall size, glass type/spec, number of doors and hardware choice, privacy finishes (film/frosting/manifestation), fixing system, and site conditions/access.
Shopfronts FAQs
What is a shopfront?
A shopfront is the glazed frontage of a retail or commercial space. It typically includes fixed glass panels and may include glass entry doors, sidelights, and surrounding framing or hardware.
Do you do framed and frameless shopfronts?
