Pet door options
We offer a range of pet doors to suit different pets, homes, and budgets.
Colours and finishes
Most pet doors are available in white or clear, with some models also available in black.
Glass versus timber installation
Pet doors can be installed into both glass doors/panels and timber doors. The right method depends on the type of glass you have and where the door is located.
If your existing glass can be cut, we can often install into the current panel. If it cannot be cut (common with toughened or double glazed), we’ll measure and supply a new panel manufactured to suit the pet door.
Important note about installing a pet door
Before installing a pet door, there are a few key things to consider:
Toughened glass cannot be cut or modified
Glass may need to be replaced rather than altered
Double glazing requires full unit replacement
Correct sizing is important for your pet’s comfort
We’ll guide you through the process to ensure everything is done correctly and safely.
Pet door installation process
Installing a pet door is straightforward, but the steps depend on the glass type.
Pet doors FAQs
Can you install a pet door into my existing glass?
Sometimes — it depends on the type of glass.
If your glass is standard annealed glass, we can cut a hole and install the pet door.
If the glass is toughened safety glass, it cannot be cut and will need to be replaced with a new panel made to suit the pet door. Toughened safety glass is more commonly found in ranchsliders, newer glazing, double glazing etc.
Can you install a pet door into double glazing?
YES, however the double glazed unit will need to be replaced.
Pet doors cannot be retrofitted into existing double glazed units (DGUs/IGUs).
If you want a pet door in double glazing, it must be manufactured into the unit from the start, which means replacing the entire unit.
